Known as male and female pattern baldness. In men hair loss begins over both temples causing a receding hairline in M shape. Hair also thins at the crown (near the top of the head), often progressing to partial or complete baldness.
In women, the hair becomes thinner all over the head but hairline remains intact. Rarely leads to complete baldness.
